The SailorGuard Gateway knows where your boat is and how deep the water is. Anchor Guard controls your windlass and counts the chain. Together, the SailorGuard App turns them into one system: the right chain for the depth, you can also drop the anchor if your boat drifts out of its geofence.

Why both
Each device is good. Together they protect the boat.
The Gateway works on its own with the SailorGuard App; Anchor Guard needs a hub (the Gateway or an official SignalK server) to reach it. Anchoring safely needs both: knowing the depth and your position, and acting on the anchor.

How it works, step by step.
Drop the anchor from the helm
Lower the anchor from the app; it recommends how much chain to let out for the live depth.
Set the geofence
Mark your anchor position. SailorGuard watches your position, depth and wind, on board or ashore.
If the boat drifts
You get an alert on your phone and you are able to use emergency anchor drop command.

Bundle questions
The Gateway works on its own with the SailorGuard App. Anchor Guard cannot be used with the app on its own: it needs the Gateway or an official SignalK server. With both SailorGuard devices you also get scope recommendations from the live depth and the automatic anchor drop on a geofence breach.
